You deserve a pile of poutine-covered Paul Gross and chocolate-covered CKR for this. This is just - so Ronon, and Chuck, and all of them and gleeful but still - I loved it so much.

I don't know if I commented on this before the Great Destruction, but what the hell. If so I'll do it again.

I love this to infinity. Seriously made of win.

Oh, my god, that was fantastic. So funny and moving, with all these awesome character bits and snarky commentary about the universe!

Oh my god. OH. MY. GOD.

I fucking loved this. It made me laugh out loud enough to thoroughly irritate my son on the other side of the room. And I almost never laugh out loud while reading.

And it was compassionate and affectionate, and I loved, lovedlovedloved Ronon's narrative voice.

This is so awesome and hilarious. And also awesome on a more serious level, too - I adore your Ronon, and I really liked the way he was looking for a new tribe. He wants to be Canadian! AWESOME.

My favourite bit was probably the Planet of the McKays, because that will never stop being funny, but the whole thing was just great. Yay Ronon! Yay Chuck!

Oh wow, this was such a joy to read! You really are a good storyteller.

I love the McKay/Sheppard in the background. This is my first fic I'm reading that isn't M/S so that was nice to see.

Ronon is such a great character. And Chuck! Wow. Thank goodness for fanfic. TPTB could have never made it a tenth of how interesting he is in this fic.

I feel a bit silly, but it's nice to read about Canada this way. Thanks for putting it in the limelight, so to speak. :)

This is an adorable story. I like intelligent-Ronon-with-an-actual-past very much indeed. I shall now instruct my daughter to come and read it.

I was just pointed to this story and have to say wow. Very wow. This is what we get if Will Ferguson writes SGA fanfic. *g*

I loved the whole thing. And a HUGE thank you for managing to include Edmonton and Guelph in a single story! (With only a passing reference to Calgary. *evil snickers*) ;-)

I love to read a story like this and get all the references. Sometimes readin SGA fics American things go right over my head. This was an awesome story. Now we just need to get Ronon singing some Canadian folk music!

Thank you for sharing.

(p.s. I prefer Kitchener, but woohoo for Guelph!)

This is... this is...

Well, first of all, congrats on your spot-on Ronon POV. I love how you made him so bright and capable - I mean, c'mon, the guy did survive all those seven years, which cannot have been accomplished on the shoulders of brawn alone - but so many authors treat him as the dumb muscley backup. I loved this bit: "McKay's a badass and the only reason you don't know it is you're never on duty when they come in hot. The team has Sheppard and Teyla besides, they don't need more brawn. Ronon's smart, he knows where to look and when. Sheppard's got layers, he wants guys with layers on his team."

I like the assumption that because John's smart, he would never choose someone who wasn't for his team. Ronon's growing affection for Canada is both sweetly understandable, given his past, and completely hilarious. Last but not least, Carter's decision to fill every moment of the IOA's visit with triviality was great. I especially liked Teyla's 'Dawn Ceremony' improvised from whole cloth.

Long story short? You done good. Thanks so much for writing this!

The fact that you've used a bunch of poems that I've known for a long time and are so familiar and used them so well makes me instantly love this story. And I wish we had seen this side to Ronan on screen, I always thought he had more depth than the writers gave him. (Of course he's smart!) Also, loved Ronan teasing just about everyone. :)

This made me laugh out loud to the point that I was worried I would wake my kids!

The Canadiana, the great Ronon, Chuck, who actually gets to have a personality, there really was nothing about this fic that I did not adore. I was just starting chapter two when I though, "I wish I wrote this" which I hope you take as the compliment it's intended to be, because I just love your brain.

I'm going to rec this on my lj now, thanks for writing this!

Here by way of [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec. This fic is adorable! I have a soft spot for a well-written Ronon. Chuck was great as well, and I loved all the spontaneous bursts of self-mocking Canadian patriotism by him and Rodney. And the nurse with the jacket! Also, I love it when fanfic teaches me a little bit about a country I don't know much about.

I cracked up when Chuck realized with growing terror that he's a missionary.

I adored this absolutely! Utterly made of WIN!
Ronon and Chuck's friendship was well crafted and the voices were just right, and the subtle background McShep was delicious.
Chuck's horror over unintentionally destroying Ronon's heritage with his social imperialism is fantastic! And Ronon's desire for visiting P.E.I? - well, he's joined the multitude of others seduced by L.M.Montgomery :)
I could go on and on and on, but I think I'll just summerize with BRILLIANT!!!

I'm not a huge fanfic reader, but this was linked to me this morning with a "read this when you can" note.

Hilarious! Absolutely hilarious, chapter 4 had me almost choking because of laughing so hard. Sure am glad that Ronon understands the offside rule in Hockey... even if he likes poutine *barf*

I think the Tim Hortons line just about killed me. All roads in Canada lead to a Timmies...

Anyway -- good stuff. Thanks for the laughs today, even if I'm late to the party.

Brilliant portrayal of Ronon's assumptions and cultural differences. I especially like the gatesheet, and him being pleased that Chuck learnt that no one touches your gun. I really like the idea of Canada being a tribe.
